Plethora: overabundance, excess, surplus, glut – COOL WORDS

Plethora is a cool word because it rolls off the tongue very nicely. Plus if you can manage to work it into a conversation you will sound smart. . . or pompous depending on the audience.  Here is an example: There is a plethora of items to choose from at the grocery store.  I try to use this word at least once a week, any more than that is just . . . pompous. (Pompous: pretentious, self-important, affected)
